What is Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a state where we move past our conscious mind to access the subconscious where all our memories, beliefs and habits are stored.

Hypnosis changes our state of consciousness so that our conscious mind, also called the thinking mind, is switched off and our subconscious mind, the emotional mind, is more attentive. The subconscious mind is responsible for 90% of our actions so if we can change our mind, we can change our behaviour. The reprogramming of negative patterns of behaviour is, therefore, happening in the deep-seated, more instinctive unconscious mind which absorbs all the positive words and suggestions given by the therapist.

Under hypnosis we can often remember events from the past with perfect clarity, even if these events happened many decades ago. Our subconscious memory is virtually perfect. The function of our subconscious mind is to store and retrieve data so that we respond exactly as we have been programmed. In hypnosis the goal is to change these programs that were run by the subconscious mind by planting new, positive patterns. Just like a gardener planting seeds into fertile soil, our subconscious mind grows these seeds by obeying our commands.

Hypnotherapy is a proven effective treatment for a wide range of conditions including pain, depression, anxiety and phobias. There is, therefore, a growing acceptance of the benefits of hypnosis within the medical field.

What is Rapid Transformational Therapy
and why is it different?

Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) is a pioneering therapy, developed by Marisa Peer, that embraces many aspects of the most beneficial principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. It delivers extraordinary, permanent results and empowers clients to transform their lives by gaining powerful insights into their subconscious mind.

Traditional talk therapy or psychotherapy deal with issues at the level of the conscious awareness and can be very lengthy. However, dealing with the clients’ problems on the intellectual level or using positive affirmations on the conscious level are insufficient when it comes to changing limiting beliefs and causing permanent behavioural change. Clients come to us with both physical and emotional pain and want rapid results. RTT aims to deliver permanent change in only one to three sessions.

RTT goes beyond hypnotherapy as it does not rely solely on positive reinforcement.
It helps clients to free themselves from physical, emotional and psychological pain by finding the root cause of their suffering and the deep limiting beliefs that are stored in their subconscious. In turn, we can change the client’s behaviour, because all unhealthy behaviours such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, overeating, self-harm, anger, have a root cause which are linked to past experiences.

In fact, often, clients’ pain comes down to three common limiting beliefs which are deeply ingrained and hold us back from living our best life:

I am not enough.

I am different and I cannot connect.

What I want is not available to me.

RTT therapists help you to break through to the subconscious mind via hypnosis in a way that is not possible through positive suggestions alone. They use the power of your alpha and theta brainwaves to help you access the subconscious which allows you to communicate with it by utilising a number of extremely powerful tools to help you clear negative, limiting beliefs and emotions.

RTT has been proven to work effectively on the following issues:

emotional issues including low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, fears, phobias

various addictions including smoking, alcohol and drug abuse

stress and various physical disorders including insomnia, chronic pain, infertility, migraine,          irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and allergies.

RTT is as effective online as it is in person and perfect for people who prefer to solve their problems quickly in the comfort and convenience of their own home.

What happens in a Session?

A typical RTT session lasts approximately two hours, which gives us enough time and space to safely re-programme old limiting beliefs.

First, we start with discussing the issue you want to get rid of. After finding out what your life would look like after resolving the issue, I will take you safely to the hypnotic state. Together we will access your subconscious mind and find out the root cause of the issue and reframe your old beliefs. After that follows a powerful transformation to free you from the problem. I will make a bespoke recording for you to listen to for 21 days. It is very important that you commit to listening to that recording every day for at least 21 days as this is the length of time it takes the brain to accept new habits. Some people will experience an immediate, transformative shift after the first session. For others, the change is more gradual and they notice an incremental shift during the following weeks.

How many Sessions?

Clients that are in pain want to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and no one should suffer for years. RTT is an extremely effective form of therapy that can achieve visible results after just one session. Most of the issues can be resolved in one to three sessions given that the client listens to the bespoke recording for 21 days.

Frequent Questions

Is a person under hypnosis asleep or unconscious?
You never fall asleep or lose your full sense of awareness during hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state where you feel increasing levels of relaxation and are actually more aware with increased attention and an increasing level of receptivity to suggestions.

Do you remember things that happen while under hypnosis?
You are aware of everything that is happening during hypnosis. After the session, you will feel more relaxed and calmer.

Can a person be hypnotised against their will and be made to do things he or she does not want to?
No, during hypnosis you are in full control at all times. It is impossible to make anyone think or do anything they do not want to whilst in hypnosis. You only accept suggestions that are given if you feel they are in your interest.

Can a person get stuck in trance?
It is impossible to get stuck in a hypnotic trance. Hypnosis is a natural state that we enter and exit all the time.

What if I cannot be hypnotised?
Everybody can be hypnotised as it is a natural state that we enter many times a day; upon waking and falling asleep, when daydreaming or while meditating or driving on a familiar road. As soon as clients understand that they remain conscious and in control, it is surprisingly easy.

What if I already know the reason behind my issue?
The insights you have from previous therapy or your own analysis can be helpful when beginning RTT. However, in order to solve the problem, you need to know what the root cause behind the issue is. Through RTT you will find the root cause that is deep-seated in your subconscious and that might not be what you think it is. Only after being able to release a belief or judgement that was created by past events, can you resolve the issue.

When will I start to see changes?

Depending on the issue, only one to three sessions are required to resolve issues and deliver lasting change. There are three different types of change:

Immediate change – you feel a massive shift in your body and mind and feel relieved right after the session.

Cumulative change – you feel an incremental change every day or over time.

Retroactive change – you only notice after some weeks that a shift has happened or an old habit or behaviour is no longer present.
